At our July meeting, Maggie Beswick spoke of her two day walk through Sussex raising money for Alzheimer’s.
Debby Collett gave an account of her time at Denman. She had successfully applied for a bursary and did a course called ‘Look the best you can’, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Our Speaker for the evening was Trevor Sayer, educating us on the vital work carried out 365 days a year by SERV (Service Emergency Response Volunteers), otherwise known as the Blood Runners.
The Catering Group has been kept busy recently. As well as several parties, funeral teas, etc., it has catered for 175 people attending the 150th birthday celebrations for Willesborough Windmill. Providing food for a wedding reception at the end of September is also in the pipeline.
