Our reading group started 10 years ago and we meet on the third Wednesday of the month at 2pm. We are supplied with a variety of great books from Bockhanger Library, which we discuss at our meetings, most of which take place in Kennington WI Hall, but occasionally we de-camp and treat ourselves to a cream tea at the local tea shop or garden centre (it’s much more fun discussing a book over a cream scone and cup of tea!).

Books we have read at past meetings include Still Alice by Lisa Genova, A State of Freedom by Neel Mukherjee, Ruin Beach by Kate Rhodes, Cider with Rosie by Laurie Lee, Brick Lane by Monica Ali, Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee, Tender is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald and Cartes Postales from Greece by Victoria Hislop.

We are a friendly, informal group of about 10 members with no academic ability to join us, other than an interest in reading and the huge variety of literature available. All interests and comments are most welcome over tea and biscuits, so please do get in touch if you would like to join us.
